The Cry of Central Kalahari

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana, is a unique area in this incredibly beautiful country, it is dry savannah habitat and so can be very different to the rest of the wilderness areas which are primarily wet habitat. Forna and flora have adapted to survive in these harsh, dry conditions of the Kalahari; just as the Bushmen did years ago. In the hot summer months, herds of gemsbok and Oryx make their way to this area followed by predators like the black main Kalahari lion, leopard and well as cheetah and the optimistic black-backed jackal. The hungry badges are followed by opportunistic bat-eared foxes which forage for small mouses, on the guard squirrels and the birds which are plentiful, in particular, the seed-eating birds, that feed on the endless grasses.
