About Mkuze Game Reserve

One of KwaZulu-Natal’s oldest and most celebrated protected areas, Mkuze Game Reserve offers an authentic African safari experience away from the crowds. Covering more than 40,000 hectares of diverse wilderness, the reserve forms part of the internationally recognised iSimangaliso Wetland Park buffer zone and is renowned for its remarkable biodiversity.

Mkuze’s unique landscape ranges from ancient riverine forests and acacia savannah to open grasslands, wetlands and the rugged slopes of the Lebombo Mountains. These varied habitats support an extraordinary variety of wildlife, making every game drive and guided walk a different experience.
